What We Do

From diagnosis to a system that's running.

Most software problems are really operations problems wearing a software costume. We start by finding the actual constraint, then build only what clears it. You can start anywhere in the sequence below, but most engagements begin with an assessment, because building the wrong thing well is still the wrong thing.

01

Operations & scalability assessment

We map how your business actually runs and pinpoint the constraint that's capping your growth.

Format

Project · 2–4 weeks

Good fit

Good fit if you're hitting a ceiling and aren't sure whether the fix is process, people, or software.

What's Included

  • A working map of how the business operates today, end to end
  • Bottleneck analysis: where work stalls, repeats, or breaks
  • Audit of current tools and where they've stopped fitting
  • A clear build-vs-buy-vs-fix-the-process recommendation
  • A prioritized roadmap you can act on with or without us

The fastest way to waste money on custom software is to build before you know what’s actually slowing you down. An assessment is a short, focused engagement to find that out.

We sit with how the work really happens (not the org chart version) and trace where it stalls, doubles back, or depends on one person and a spreadsheet. You come out with a plain-language map of your operation, the specific constraint that’s holding scale back, and an honest recommendation about whether the answer is a custom build, a process change, or a tool you can buy off the shelf. If software isn’t the right call, we’ll tell you.

02

Custom software strategy

We turn the constraint into a concrete plan: scoped, sequenced, and estimated.

Format

Project · 2–6 weeks

Good fit

Good fit if you already know custom software is the answer but need a clear, buildable plan before committing budget.

What's Included

  • Requirements defined in terms of the work, not features
  • Solution architecture and a data model that fits your operation
  • Integration plan for the systems you already run
  • Phased scope so value ships early, not all at the end
  • A realistic estimate and timeline before anyone commits to a build

Knowing you need custom software is not the same as knowing what to build. This is where a constraint becomes a specification.

We translate the problem into a design: what the system has to do, how it models your data, where it connects to the tools you already depend on, and how it rolls out in phases so you see returns before the last line of code. The deliverable is a plan you could hand to any competent team (including, but not limited to, ours) with a scope and estimate solid enough to make a confident go decision.

03

Custom application development

We build the bespoke system, and the operational change around it, so it actually gets used.

Format

Project · scoped per engagement

Good fit

Good fit if off-the-shelf tools don't fit how your business works and you need something built to your operation.

What's Included

  • The full build, to the scope agreed in design
  • Integrations and migration from your current tools and data
  • Rollout, documentation, and training for the people who'll use it
  • Iteration after launch, once real use exposes what to refine
  • A clean handoff so you're never locked to us to keep running

Off-the-shelf software is built for the average of everyone. When your operation isn’t average (and the businesses that hit a real ceiling rarely are), the fit gap is the constraint.

We build the system your operation actually needs, integrate it with what you already run, and migrate your data so day one isn’t a cold start. Then we stay through rollout, because software that ships but doesn’t get used solves nothing. The goal is a tool that fits the work so closely it disappears into it, with a handoff clean enough that you own it outright.

How Engagements Run

Built around how you actually want to work together.

Project

A defined scope with a fixed timeline and estimate. Most assessments and builds run this way.

Phased build

Larger systems delivered in sequenced phases, each shippable, so value lands before the whole thing is done.

Advisory

Ongoing strategic input for teams who have the build capacity but want a second set of eyes on direction. Available as a light monthly retainer.
